Visiting teachers from Ningxi province of China

 

 

Dr. Nancy Holincheck presented on Innovation in Science Teaching to a group of visiting teachers and administrators from the Ningxia province in China who spent a week at George Mason University as a part of a Curriculum Development and Professional Teaching Capacity Training Delegation.  The Chinese educators were engaged in lessons on inquiry-based teaching and scientific discourse during the session.  With the help of a translator, the visiting scholars practiced question generation activities in small groups, discussed how to scaffold the process for learners, and learned how to engage students in scientific discourse.
